Local Man Faces Assault Charges

Sunday, Sept. 2

9:38 a.m. – A Sparhawk Drive resident reported that a broken computer mouse a broken iPod and a small fishing knife were stolen from his family's vehicles.

12:50 p.m. – A caller on Kimball Road reported hearing about 20 shots in rapid succession.

1:36 p.m. – A cell phone caller reported a possible water main break on Litchfield Road.

8:36 p.m. – A caller on Stonehenge Road reported hearing four "shots." The caller wasn't sure if they were fireworks or gunshots.

9:09 p.m. – A caller on Birchwood Drive reported juvenile subjects running around ringing doorbells and setting off car alarms.

9:49 p.m. – A caller on Terracewood Road reported a loud party with cars parked all over the street. Police advised the homeowner to shut the party down.

11:44 p.m. – Robert J. Spurrell, 18, of 17R Tigertail Circle, Derry, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or liquor, transporting an alcoholic beverage by a minor and unlawful possession and intoxication. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and given a court date of Oct. 1 in Derry District Court.

Monday, Sept. 3

2:22 p.m. – A caller reported hearing someone shooting in the area of South and Kendall Pond roads. The subject was located shooting safely on his own property on Catamount Road.

2:46 p.m. – A caller reported that a group of kids were in the roadway on scooters on Shasta Drive swearing at passing cars.

6:02 p.m. – A caller reported a hit-and-run accident at Auburn and Old Derry roads.
