“Thefts from motor vehicles and car break-ins continue to be a problem in Bedford,” noted Chief John Bryfonski in a press statement. “The majority of thefts from motor vehicles occur late at night and involve the vehicles being unlocked. Please make sure to lock your car and remove all valuables every time you exit your vehicle.”
Police urge residents to always lock their vehicles, even when parked in your own driveway, and never leave belongings in plain sight.
Bedford Police will have an increased presence throughout the community, but advise community members to be proactive in protecting their belongings. If the public sees anything out of the ordinary or finds that any of their belongings have been stolen from their vehicle, they are encouraged to call the Bedford Police Department at 603-472-5113.
Pedley was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in Merrimack District Court on July 12.
