Londonderry Middle School Students Win Video Contest – Again

Students submitted drone video for the 2018 What's So Cool About Manufacturing? contest; Peterborough, Winnisquam, Wolfeboro also honored.

LONDONDERRY, NH — For the second year in a row, middle-school students from Londonderry have won the What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? video contest. The students – who submitted a video featuring drones from BirdsEyeView Aerobotics of Andover – will receive a $1,000 prize. The winners were announced by the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development, by video, on March 22, 2018.

“Advanced manufacturing is an important driver of our economy and it’s important for students to know what 21st century manufacturing looks like in New Hampshire,” Gov. Chris Sununu said in a statement. “Over the past four years, the What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? video contest has introduced scores of middle school students around the state to the opportunities there are right here.”

First place went to Londonderry Middle School with the help of BirdsEyeView Aerobics:

“New Hampshire’s economy is booming and advanced manufacturing contributes greatly to that,” said Commissioner Taylor Caswell of the Department of Business and Economic Affairs in a statement. “As the growth of this industry continues, we need to be sure students know that manufacturing offers them a rewarding career path.”

Second place winners – South Meadow School in Peterborough worked with Vicuña Chocolate for their presentation while Winnisquam Regional Middle School, which came in third, worked with Freudenberg NOK for its video. Kingswood Regional Middle School in Wolfeboro, which came in fourth, partnered with Crystal Geyser.
