School Security on the Ballot
Security upgrade and a school resource officer are two items to be voted on March 12.

In 28 days voters will go to the polls to decide the Londonderry School District's general fund budget of about $66 million, as well as a $170,000 measure to improve school security, after an industrious-like deliberative session Monday night, the Eagle-Tribune reported.
The Fiscal Year 2014 school budget reflects a little more than a $12 tax impact, according to district finance documents.
Like their counterparts in communities across New Hampshire, Londonderry School Superintendent Nathan Greenberg, School Board members and public safety officials began reviewing school security shortly after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting tragedy Dec. 14.

In the town deliberative session a week ago, voters also endorsed a warrant article to hire a school resource officer. That ballot item is $101,000, and, if approved, the police chief would decide whether to hire a full-time officer or part-time officers.
The ballot session of Annual Town Meeting is March 12. Voting is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the gym at Londonderry High School.
