Mammoth Road in Londonderry Closed After Tanker Truck Crash
Police: An undisclosed amount of fuel has leaked from the tanker into the road, nearby wetlands; it is unknown when the road will re-open.

LONDONDERRY, NH — Mammoth Road will be closed for the foreseeable future after a tanker truck crash and fuel spill this morning. Londonderry Police and Fire and Rescue teams were called to the area between Page and Sanborn Roads at around 5:15 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2016, for the single vehicle crash.
“Arriving officers located the tanker truck on its side and noted a strong odor of gasoline in the area,” Det. Chris Olson noted in a press statement. “The driver and sole occupant of the tanker was able to escape the crash without injury. The tanker was determined to be carrying an undisclosed amount of diesel fuel and gasoline.”

“The area of this crash does have exposure to a small wetland,” Olson noted. “Recovery efforts are underway to try to minimize the amount of fuel leaking from the tanker as well as fuel entering the environment.”
More information is expected tonight. It is unknown, at post time, how long the road will be closed.
