Man Arrested for Assaulting a Cop at ManchVegas Bar
Police: Dillon Coleman of Derry struck an officer in the face outside of McGarvey's Pub on Elm Street Sunday morning.

MANCHESTER, NH - A local man as arrested on numerous charges after reportedly refusing to leave a local bar and then, allegedly assaulting a cop.
Dillon Coleman, 23, of Derry, was arrested on Feb. 21, 2016, and charged with resisting arrest or detention, disorderly conduct and simple assault.

According to an arrest report, the manager of McGarvey’s Pub on Elm Street flagged an officer down after a reportedly disorderly patron refused to leave the bar.
The officer observed the patron and explained to the man – later identified as Coleman that he had to leave the establishment. Coleman reportedly got up and left. However, he allegedly stopped in the middle of the street and began yelling obscenities at the officer, according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department.

“(The officer) attempted to get Coleman back to his direction, so he could take him into custody for disorderly conduct,” he noted. “Coleman allegedly turned and abruptly walked in the opposite direction, defying the officer’s request.”
The officer ran to Coleman and arrested him but he allegedly began struggling and reportedly struck the officer in the face, knocking both the officer and Coleman to the ground, according to the report. Coleman was restrained and then, transported to headquarters and held. He was scheduled to be arraigned this morning.
According to online reports, Coleman has previously been charged with criminal trespass, possession of alcohol by a minor, resisting arrest, attempted assault on a police officer, and two counts of assault on a police officer.
