Marblehead Mom Arrested for Aggravated DWI After Crash in NH
NHSP: Karen Carlin was arrested on Sunday while allegedly driving drunk on I-93 South with a child in her car.

MANCHESTER, NH — New Hampshire State Police arrested a Massachusetts woman yesterday after a crash on I-93 South for allegedly drunk driving, according to a press statement. Karen Carlin, 47, of Marblehead, MA, was arrested on Jan. 29, 2017, for aggravated driving while intoxicated.

At just before 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, a state trooper received a report about a “hazardous motorist” traveling in the southbound lane of I-93 in Manchester. The trooper responded to the area of where the vehicle was reported and at just before the Manchester line with Londonderry, the suspect vehicle – a 2015 Lexus RX350 – reportedly rear-ended another vehicle. Carlin was identified as the driver of the Lexus, according to Lt. N.A. Noyes of the NHSP.

“During the subsequent investigation, (the trooper) determined that Carlin was under the influence of intoxicating liquor,” Noyes alleged.
A child was also in the vehicle at the time of the collision, according to Noyes, but no injuries were reported.

Carlin is due in Manchester District Court on Feb. 13.
