McCain: Romney Needs NH Veterans to Win
In an abbreviated town hall at VFW Post 483 Sen. John McCain skewered Obama and urged veterans to show Romney some love.
Maybe John McCain should be on the comedy circuit, given his propensity for political one-liners. But instead, he's on the stump for Romney, focusing on the veterans vote, which he says is essential for Romney to win the White House in November.
Although McCain eased in to his remarks with a series of political jokes, McCain finished strong in urging the 100 or so people in the room to campaign for Romney for the win.
“We don't have the level of votes we need,” said McCain.

McCain shifted quickly to the why of what's at stake, namely the need for strong leadership in the White House, and faulting President Obama for the current state of affairs in the Middle East.
“My fellow veterans know that what it's about is failed presidential leadership. [Obama] believes in leading from behind, and that's why things are unraveling in the Middle East,” McCain said.

"The President of the United States never talks about success or victory; he talks about withdrawal," McCain said.
And then, it was a WWRRD moment – What Would Ronald Reagan Do? – as McCain asked the crowd rhetorically if they thought Ronald Reagan would be shirking his commander in chief duties as he believes Obama is.
McCain's remarks were underscored several times throughout the 20-minute town hall by Sen. Kelly Ayotte and U.S. Rep. Charlie Bass, who flanked the Arizona senator during the Q&A session.
Bob Kectic and his wife, Donna, of Nashua, are solidly behind Romney for president, although they have been known to support a Democrat or two from time to time.
However, Kectic says he's always supported Romney this time around. Then, noted the empty chairs inside the VFW as he waited for McCain.
"We like Sarah Palin. I think we'd have had a full house here if they put her out on the campaign trail. The brought her out four years too soon," Kectic said. "She's cute as a button, and if nothing else, she'd be a great cheerleader for Romney."
Kectic said he looks forward to Romney's election, as a way of energizing the country.
"I think the fallout of a Romney presidency will be that the business community stops holding back. They's anxiously awaiting him," Kectic said. "He'll definitely energize the country."
