WalletHub said it published the study ahead of International Youth Day, which is Tuesday.
The study took into account 16 metrics, including infant death rates, the number of children in foster care, and the percentage of maltreated children.

Here’s how New Hampshire fared in the following categories compared to all other states:
• Percentage of children in households with below-poverty income: 1st
• Percentage of children in foster care: 2nd
• Child food insecurity rate: 2nd
• Percentage of maltreated children: 4th
• Children in single-parent families: 5th
• Children living in rental vs. owner units: 5th
• Infant death rate: 6th
• Percentage of children without health insurance: 7th
• Homeless people in families per capita: 25th
