NH Reacts to Bombing Suspect's Capture

Several political leaders from the Granite State offered their congratulations and thanks following Friday night's capture.

A sense of jubilation and relief was felt well beyond Boston following the capture of the second Boston Marathon bombing suspect late Friday night.

Several New Hampshire politicians offered their thoughts in the hours after the news broke.

Gov. Maggie Hassan said she joined the people of New Hampshire "in extending our most heartfelt gratitude to all those who put their lives on the line to keep us all safe today.

"Law enforcment officials, emergency responders and all involved have demonstrated unyielding bravery and expert skill in apprehending this suspect of these horrific acts of cowardice and terror," Hassan added. "From the Town of Watertown, the City of Boston, the State of Massachusetts, the State of New Hampshire, and far and wide, they came together, stood together, and never wavered, and we will forever be grateful for their incredible dedication to the safety of our people. Thank you."

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen offered this statement:

"I want to commend Massachusetts law enforcement officials and first responders for their incredible work this week. To all who were involved in this effort, including officials from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and elsewhere around the country, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for a job well done capturing the second suspect in the Boston Marathon terrorist attack.  My condolences, thoughts and prayers remain with the victims of this week's terrorist attacks and their families."

U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte had this to say on Twitter:

"Grateful for our public safety officials who risk their lives on the front lines to keep us safe. #ThankYou #BostonStrong #BostonProud"

U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter took to Twitter to give thanks as well:

"Thanks to the public employees and officials from fed, state, and local agencies. Your courage, determination and patriotism make us all proud!"

U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster offered her thoughts on Twitter, too:

"Grateful for the tremendous skill and courage of the law enforcement officials in #Boston who put themselves in harm's way to keep us safe"
