
Clinton Ellis Jackson, 76, of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2013 at his son’s home in Chester surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 13, 1937 in Medford, MA, a son of the late Clinton Waite and Alice (Gunn) Jackson. Mr. Jackson graduated from Waltham High School, Waltham, MA, Class of 1955. Clinton enjoyed a life of telling history through his service for the National Park Service and numerous re-enactments of the Battle of Lexington and Concord as a member of the Lexington Minute Men and British re-enactment groups. He was inducted into His Majesty’s British 10th Regiment a Foot of the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment. His love of the National Park Service and our American history was a constant theme in his life. He also enjoyed photography and magic. Clinton is loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his children, Timothy Jackson and his partner Paula, Jared Jackson and his wife Betsy, and Amy Jackson Bennett and her husband Drew, grandchildren, Kevin, Matthew, Alex, Russell, Noah, Libby, and Charlotte, one brother, Harvey Jackson and one sister Wendy Jackson LaPointe. He was predeceased by one son, Christopher Jackson.
A Calling hour will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 3 – 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Memorial service will begin at 4pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Clinton’s memory to Amedysis Hospice, 1E Commons Drive, Unit 31, Londonderry, NH 03053.
