Elinor M. McCarthy, 95, of Derry, NH, died Friday August 31, 2012 in Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. She was born in Jamaica Plain, MA on February 28, 1917, a daughter of the late Arthur and Maude (Tabor) Raymo. A resident of Derry since 1998, she formerly lived in Londonderry, NH for 45 years. Mrs. McCarthy had been employed as a machine operator for Western Electric in North Andover, MA for 20 years. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, and was an avid Bingo player. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hansis of Derry; three granddaughters, Laura Marchand of Allenstown, NH, Jessica Hart of Manchester, NH, and Shannon Hart of Henniker, NH; five great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick W. McCarthy in 1982. There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 6th at 11:00am in the Holbrook Cemetery, High St., Candia, NH. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
