One Killed, Others Injured in 5-Vehicle Accident on I-93 in NH
NHSP: Derry woman loses her life after Hudson pickup truck driver smashes into other vehicles; three from the Bay State struck during crash.

CONCORD, NH — A Derry woman has lost her life after her Nissan Rogue was rear-ended on I-93 South last night in Manchester and rolled off the highway, according to New Hampshire State Police. Cynthia Perkins, 62, was killed on Oct. 10, 2016, after a pickup truck driver from Hudson was traveling south when he came upon slow moving traffic at the I-93 and I-293 interchange.
“(The driver) was unable to stop his vehicle and collided with multiple other vehicles,” according to Trooper Bryan Plamondon of the NHSP. “Upon colliding with the Nissan Rogue, operated by Perkins, the Nissan Rogue began rolling over prior to departing the paved surface of the roadway.”
Three other vehicles – a Nissan Altima being driven by an elderly woman from North Easton, MA, a Subaru Impreza being driven by a Somerville, MA, resident, and a Tesla Model S, being driven by a man from Kingston, MA, with a female passenger – were all struck during the crash, according to state police.

Plamondon noted that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the collision however all aspects of the crash are under investigation, including speed and/or distraction. Two of the five lanes at the interchange were closed for several hours during the investigation. NHSP were assisted at the scene by the Manchester Fire Department, AMR Ambulance, and the NH DOT.
