Patch, TNH to Co-Host Debate Watch Party

The event will be held Tuesday night at the University of New Hampshire.

Patch will co-host a presidential debate watch party at the University of New Hampshire in Durham on Tuesday, Oct. 16, to coincide with the second debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

The event is co-sponsored by Patch and The New Hampshire – UNH's student newspaper – in coordination with the UNH Journalism Program.

"A Social Debate: Obama-Romney 2012," starts at 8 p.m. in UNH's Memorial Union Building Union Court with a pre-debate conversation about how social media is changing the way politics play out and are covered by journalists today.

Then take a seat to watch Obama and Romney in their second debate of the campaign from 9 to 10:30 p.m., focusing on foreign and domestic policy.

Guests taking part in the pre-debate discussion include representatives of the Romney and Obama campaigns; Chad Graff, managing editor of The New Hampshire; Marc Fortier and Dan Tuohy from Patch; Meg Heckman, former online editor of The Concord Monitor; and Tom Haines, journalism professor at UNH.

The event is open to the public.
