Pats Fan, Habitual Offender Arrested on I-93 by Staties

Brendan Belanger was arrested after allegedly giving a state trooper a false name and date of birth after a motor vehicle stop.

MANCHESTER, NH — A local man – clearly pumped for football today – was arrested by New Hampshire State Police on charges after an alleged registration violation, according to a press statement. Brendan M. Belanger, 38, of Derry, was arrested on Jan. 22, 2017, for operating while being a habitual offender, disobeying an officer, and an active warrant.

At about 12:45 p.m., a state trooper pulled over a 2001 GMC pickup truck traveling north on I-93 for a registration violation. After the stop, the driver allegedly gave the trooper a false name and date of birth, according to Lt. N.A. Noyes. The trooper later identified the driver as Belanger.

“A license check revealed that Belanger is currently suspended as a habitual offender and has a warrant out of the state of New Hampshire for operating while a habitual offender,” Noyes alleged. “Belanger was arrested and booked at NH State Police Troop-B Barracks.”

Belanger was held and will be arraigned tomorrow.
