A woman hit by a car in Derry over the weekend has died, according to police. Jeanne Petrin, 69, died at Massachusetts General Hospital on Monday, according to a press release issued by Derry Police. The driver of the vehicle that hit her, Denis Mwaura, 17, of 19 Linlew Drive in Derry has not been charged. The crash remains under investigation by the Derry Police Accident Reconstruction Team. On Saturday at 5:32 p.m., Derry Police responded to Tsienneto Road in the area of Sunview Condominiums for a motor vehicle collision involving a single motor vehicle versus a pedestrian. The pedestrian, later identified as Petrin, was crossing Tsienneto Road northbound in the area of Sunview Condominiums toward the parking lot of a local business when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Mwaura that was traveling west toward the intersection of Tsienneto Road and Route 28.
