A review of the former landfill off Auburn Road showed that the area is safe, <a href="http://www.derrynews.com/local/x1133186835/EPA-completes-review-of-landfill" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">according to the Derry News</a>. The review, conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency, was the fifth five-year review conducted on the site. The property was used as a landfill and a dump back in the 1960s, resulting in some groundwater contamination. EPA officials expect to meet with the state Department of Environmental Services and town officials sometime next year to determine how to further reduce arsenic concentrations.
