Senator Carson's Legislative Priorities
The list of bills sponsored by your state senator include tax reform and an 'anti-bullying day.'

State Sen. Sharon Carson (R-Londonderry) is named as a sponsor on 59 bills in this legislative session. Here are some of the bills:
CACR 1: Relating to taxation. Providing that 3/5 vote is required to pass legislation imposing new or increased taxes or license fees, or to authorize the issuance of state bonds and providing that the general court shall appropriate funds for payment of interest and installments of principal of all state bonds.
House Bill 110, requiring persons who record cruelty to livestock to report such cruelty and submit such recordings to a law enforcement agency.

House Bill 211, relative to service of demand for rent and eviction notice. This bill provides that in the case of commercial rental property, service of process for non-resident tenants shall be by certified mail to the tenant’s registered agent, if any, or by certified mail to the tenant’s last known legal address.
House Bill 215, relative to workforce housing and the definition of community. This bill requires municipalities that adopt land use ordinances to allocate no less than 5 percent of their dwelling units to workforce housing and defines “community” for purposes of planning and zoning laws. (Rep. Al Baldasaro, R-Londonderry, is one of the House sponsors).

House Bill 553, establishing New Hampshire anti-bullying day. This bill requires the governor to issue an annual proclamation observing New Hampshire Anti-Bullying Day. It proposes the second Wednesday of November become New Hampshire Anti-Bullying Day, whereby the governor "shall call on citizens, schools, and businesses of New Hampshire to observe the week with appropriate ceremonies, activities, and educational events promoting New Hampshire Anti-Bullying Day."
House Bill 574, increasing the size limitations for OHRVs operating on state-owned trails. It would increase an OHRV width from 50 inches to 62 inches, and the size from 1,000 to 1,700 pounds.
Senate Bill 43, relative to property taxation of qualifying historic buildings. This would allow towns and cities to appraise certain qualifying buildings at a percentage of market value in order to encourage the preservation of the historic buildings.
Senate Bill 121, relative to the distribution formula for meals and rooms tax revenue. This bill is designed to change the formula to better distribute the revenue based on where it's generated.
