State Investigating Londonderry Junkyard Fire

Murray's Auto Recycling on Hall Road was in the process of having its license revoked.

The cause of fire at a local junkyard on Jan. 29, is now being investigated by the state, according to an alert from New Hampshire State Fire Marshal J. William Degnan.

Londonderry Fire and Rescue teams, along were police, were called to Murray’s Auto Recycling on Hall Road, on Jan. 29, 2015, at approximately 12:01 a.m. for a report of a building fire.

Upon arrival, responding units observed heavy fire coming from an automotive garage located on the property. The Londonderry Fire Department was able to bring the fire under control after several hours, according to the alert. No civilian or emergency personnel injuries were reported. The building, as well as the vehicles and equipment that were stored inside it sustained extensive damage as a result of the fire.

The fire is under investigation by members of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office, Londonderry Fire Department and the Londonderry Police Department and is still under investigation at this time, according to an alert.

The junkyard, according to news reports, was in the process of having its license revoked, according to town officials.
