MANCHESTER, NH — A teen from New Hampshire, who was already on probation due to other charges, has been arrested again by police.

On Tuesday, police arrested Hunter Benoit, 19, of Claremont Street in Manchester, on outstanding warrants from incidents earlier this year. The arrest, Heather Hamel, the public information officer for the department, said, was a result of “an extensive investigation” across many months.

On Feb. 4, police were sent to Benoit’s home after a probation officer, performing a check on him, accused him of having controlled substances.

“During the investigation, police searched the residence,” she said. “They found a large quantity of marijuana, numerous edible gummies, prescription pills, and a substantial amount of cash.”

A warrant was issued for his arrest on a felony possession of controlled drugs with intent to distribute.

A few days later, police were sent to the Hilton Garden Inn to investigate an exposure accusation. This led police to accuse Benoit of exposing himself to an employee, and they issued an indecent exposure and lewdness charge against him.

Police attempted to serve the warrants to Benoit on Tuesday at his home, but Hamel accused him of attempting to flee.

“Benoit ran out a back door and through the woods,” she said. “He was eventually taken into custody on the two warrants and was additionally charged with resisting arrest.”

Benoit was arraigned on Wednesday and held. He has a dispositional conference on Aug. 4.

According to superior court records, Benoit was arrested on a drug possession charge in June 2021, but the charge was nolle prossed. A month later, he pleaded guilty to reckless conduct and driving after revocation or suspension charges after an incident in Manchester in February 2021. A violation of probation charge was filed against him in February.

The state is also attempting to get Benoit to accept forfeiture of $61,183.88 that was seized on April 8. That case, in Hillsborough County Superior Court, is scheduled for July 19.
