In 1986, President Reagan signed into law the single largest reform of the U.S. Tax Code in our nation’s history. Now, more than 30 years later, we recognize that our current tax code is reaching a point beyond repair.
Today’s tax code contains seven individual income tax brackets — each of them discouraging hard work by imposing higher taxes on Americans income as they climb the economic ladder. Through tax reform, Republicans are proposing to flatten the code to just three brackets, which will better reward work and allow Americans to keep more of their hard-earned paychecks.
President Donald Trump is working to reform our tax system so that Americans are treated fairly, can keep more of their hard-earned money, and companies can bring jobs back to the United States. He is working to help the middle class.

I believe we need to be fiscally conservative with our taxpayer dollars to ensure they are budgeted and spent thoughtfully, the same way I have budgeted as a single mother. Being a single mom I know that every dollar counts. I am grateful that President Trump is not only looking at the money we are spending and making changes to the wasteful spending, but that he is also willing to use tax reform as a method to help taxpayers pay less out of their paychecks. I encourage everyone to support the need for tax reform, which will benefit all Americans.
