Town Clerk Resigns 3 Months After Re-election

Meg Seymour's last day will be June 28.

Town Clerk Meg Seymour has resigned effective this month, according to Acting Town Manager William Hart.

Seymour's resignation was announced at Monday's Town Council meeting. Hart said Seymour gave no reason for her resignation in her letter. Her last day will be June 28.

Hart said the town will review the legal requirements for replacing the town clerk and take appropriate action.

At Monday's council meeting, a tearful Seymour thanked the council, Hart, town department heads and staff as well as the residents of Londonderry for their support.

"I'm going to miss serving the community," she said.

Hart praised Seymour for doing "yeoman's work" and said the town will miss "her work and her smile every day."

Council Chairman John Farrell also thanked Seymour for her service, and wished her well.
