Read The Town's Financial Statement

Finance Director Susan Hickey presented her third quarter financial report last week.

The financial state of the town is strong, Finance Director Susan Hickey told Town Councilors last week during a report on the town's third quarter financials.

"We're feeling confident that even with the bumps we have faced this year, we're feeling we might have $100,000 (left over) in the expenditure level, and hopefully $400,000 to return to the fund balance on revenue. We're confident in that amount of surplus."

Hickey also updated councilors on some enhancements the Finance Department is planning to unveil starting this month.

First, new eReg software will allow residents to pay property taxes and sewer bills online. Residents will also be able to pay by credit card both online for taxes and sewer and at Londonderry Town Hall for car registrations, building permits and the like.

"We're on target to have that start on April 30," Hickey said. "We're looking forward to being able to offer that to residents and businesses in the city."

She said there is no cost to the town; a 2.5 percent fee is charged to the customer.
