Town Working to Update Ordinances

The Town Council is expected to receive a revised list at its August meeting.

The town is in the process of updating its ordinances, and should have a final version of the town ordinances ready to present to the Town Council later this summer.

Acting Town Manager William Hart told councilors on June 3 that the revised pawnbroker's ordinance should be ready soon. Additionally, the town is in the process of revising its ambulance fees.

Several other ordinance revisions, including the alarm ordinance, should also be ready soon, he said.

"It should be noted that former Town Manager (Dave) Caron had started this process and largely completed most of it," Hart said. "We're going over the ones that hadn't been completed and bringing them forward if they need change."

Hart said he is hoping to bring "a comprehensive package" of ordinances to the council for approval at the August meeting.
