Trucker from Des Moines Jackknifes Tractor-Trailer on I-93: NHSP

No injuries were reported after a crash this morning on I-93 South just north of the Manchester-Londonderry line.

MANCHESTER, NH — An Iowa man was not injured after reportedly jackknifing a tractor-trailer truck on I-93 South early this morning, according to New Hampshire State Police. Troopers from Troop B in Bedford were sent to the crash at just before 5:30 a.m. on May 2, 2017, just after the lower split and before the Londonderry line.

“Initial reports indicated that the tractor-trailer was traveling south on I-93 when the driver lost control on the wet pavement,” said Lt. N.A. Noyes of the NHSP. “The tractor-trailer started to hydroplane and then jackknifed blocking all lanes of travel. The tractor-trailer struck a guard rail which resulted in the spillage of many gallons of diesel fuel.”

The man – a 40-year-old from Des Moines – was not injured during the crash. The highway was closed for about an hour, Noyes noted.
