Tupelo Announces Five New Shows
English Beat and Ottmar Liebert are among the latest acts to be announced.

We have FIVE new Londonderry shows to announce this week!
January 4 TUPELO COMEDY NIGHT: This special comedy night features Harrison Stebbins, Ralphie Joyal, and Sal Votano. Always a riotous time and cheap, cheap. You can’t go wrong with our comedy nights!
January 30 ENGLISH BEAT: Formed in Birmingham (UK) in 1978, this much loved multi-racial sextet (Dave Wakeling, guitar/vocals; Rankin' Roger, vocals; Andy Cox, guitar; Dave Steel, bass; Everett Moreton, drums; Saxa, saxophone) took the Specials' blueprint and added high-spirited pop appeal, all spiced up with a ska authenticity provided by legendary bluebeat saxophonist Saxa. February 2003 saw a dream come true for many Beat fans as the band reunited for a minitour in the UK, which culminated in their acclaimed, sold out command performance at the Royal Festival Hall! It was a magical homecoming for the band and for the fans, with band members and fans gathering from around the globe for a night or irie, ska-ful rock-steady Beat! Being the hard driving ska legend that he is, however, Dave was not content to rest on his laurels after the RFH reunion. Dave continues to tour the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the UK with an amazing all-star ska backing band playing the hits of The Beat, General Public, and his new songs. Listen

June 6 OTTMAR LIEBERT and LUNA NEGRA: Grammy Nominated Ottmar Liebert has become one of the most successful instrumental artists of the past decade, thrilling audiences throughout the world and releasing a catalog of classic recordings. By 1989, he had founded the first incarnation of his band Luna Negra. Nouveau Flamenco began life as a self-produced local release called Marita: Shadows and Storms, copies of which local Indian artist Frank Howell distributed in his art galleries.
