Tupelo Announces Four New Shows
The Blind Boys of Alabama are among the new acts booked at the Londonderry music hall.

We have FOUR new Londonderry shows to announce this week!
March 24 STICK MEN: Bassist Tony Levin and drummer Pat Mastelotto may best be known as the heart and soul of the critically acclaimed group King Crimson. This new aggregation will perform not only a host of King Crimson tunes, but selections from their new album as well. In 2007 Tony did a solo album titled Stick Man, featuring Pat Mastelotto on drums - and the desire to play that material live spurred a search for a second Stick player. The job was filled admirably by Stickist Michael Bernier, and from 2008 the group wrote and toured extensively as Stick Men, releasing two CD's along the way. In 2010, Michael decided the touring schedule took him away from home more than his family life could handle, so the search began for a replacement. And a short search it was: obvious from the start that Markus Reuter was the right player - he was already in a duo with Pat, called Tuner, and is very knowledgeable about the King Crimson repertoire (much of which Stick Men chooses from in their live shows.) Markus plays his self-designed touch guitar. (The technique it's played with is similar to the Chapman Stick.) With multiple strings on both instruments, and many samples from Pat's electronic kit, the trio is able to cover a broad sonic range. And their music also has breadth - from their powerful progressive compositions, to a rock version of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. Stick Men have toured in The U.S, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Japan, and the Canary Islands; and they plan to continue touring. March 29 BEATLEJUICE: For over 17 years Beatlejuice has been the #1 choice for Beatles fans looking to get their fix of the Fab 4. Faithfully reproducing some of the greatest songs ever written, Beatlejuice covers every era of the Beatles catalog and on to the solo careers of the boys from Liverpool. Beatlejuice can entertain any size crowd with over 3 hours of fun filled music that will have people on their feet dancing and singing along. LISTEN

May 18 GINA SICILIA: Young Philadelphia songstress Gina Sicilia exploded onto the scene in 2007, as her debut CD, ALLOW ME TO CONFESS, was met with joyous acclaim by fans and critics alike. She was heralded as a distinctive new voice in the Blues, as well as an insightful songwriter and interpreter of neglected classics in the Rhythm & Blues canon. In 2008 she was nominated for “Best New Artist Debut” at the Blues Music Awards in Memphis, Tennessee, just as her sophomore release HEY SUGAR proved her also to be a legitimate contender in the worlds of Classic Country and Americana. With her new 2011 release, Can't Control Myself, Gina broadens her stylistic palette, infusing even more Soul and Americana into her bedrock influences of Blues and R&B. This CD features seven new Gina Sicilia compositions, as well as threechoice covers borrowed from Bobby Bland, Stevie Wonder, and Ike & Tina Turner. LISTEN
May 21 BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA: The Blind Boys of Alabama are recognized worldwide as living legends of gospel music. Celebrated by The Grammys and The National Endowment for the Arts with Lifetime Achievement Awards, inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, sung for two presidents in the White House and winners of five Grammy® Awards, they have attained the highest levels of achievement in a career that spans over 70 years and shows no signs of diminishing. Longevity and major awards aside, The Blind Boys have earned praise for their remarkable interpretations of everything from traditional gospel favorites to contemporary spiritual material by acclaimed songwriters such as Curtis Mayfield, Ben Harper, Eric Clapton, Prince and Tom Waits. Their performances have been experienced by millions on The Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman, the Grammy® Awards telecast, 60 Minutes, and on their own holiday PBS Special. The Blind Boys’ live shows are roof- raising musical events that appeal to audiences of all cultures, as evidenced by an international itinerary that has taken them to virtually every continent.
