Weekend of Winning for Team Woo!

Woo Kickboxing Academy competed at the Good Fight Maine Jiu Jitsu Championships at Portland, Maine.

Ben Simon, Ed Tapia and Shawn Pond from Woo Kickboxing Academy in Londonderry, competed at the Good Fight Maine Jiu Jitsu Championships in Portland, Maine, with Derek Nielsen and Perry Gagnon who assisted with coaching. The Good Fight Jiu Jitsu Championships are submission only tournaments. There are no points. The ultimate goal is to submit your opponent. Each of the Woo Kickboxing Academy competitors qualified for the World Championships.

Ben Simon, 37 years old
Executive Men (30-39 yrs):
1st place Gi, Lightweight 146-155 lbs, Blue Belt. Ben won his Gi match by leg triangle choke from guard.
1st place NoGi, Lightweight 146-155 lbs, Blue Belt. Ben won his NoGi match by arm bar from guard.

Ed Tapia, 44 years old
Competed in Executive Men (30-39 yrs):
1st place Gi, Middleweight 171-185 lbs, White Belt. Win by Gi match by ezekiel choke from mount.
1st place NoGi, Middleweight 171-185 lbs, White Belt. Win by arm bar transition from mount.

Shawn Pond, 37 years old
Executive Men (30-39 yrs):
3rd place Gi, Welterweight 156-170 lbs, White Belt.
1st place NoGi, Welterweight 156-170 lbs, White Belt. Win by rear naked choke from the back.
