Who Is the Richest Person in New Hampshire?

Movoto, a real estate blog, has put together an interactive map showing who the richest people are in each state and how much each person is roughly worth.

The site compiled information from Forbes and Celebrity Net Worth and even analyzed how most of the millionaires and billionaires obtained their wealth (no surprise, most founded or inherited companies).

The blog post then created another interactive map of the United States and showed the number of people with wealth ranges of $150,000 to $76 million and where they all live (no surprise, major metropolitan areas showed large columns of rich people).

So what about New Hampshire?

The wealthiest person in the Granite State is Richard B. Cohen, the CEO and sole owner of C&S Wholesale Grocers of Keene, the largest wholesale grocery supply company in America. He inherited it the company that was co-founded by his grandfather in the early 1900s in Worcester. The company owns Piggly Wiggly, Best Yet, and services other companies like Market Basket, Shaw’s, Stop & Shop, and Target.
