Why I am Voting for Scott Brown

I'm a college educated NH mom, who reads and listens to both liberal and conservative points of views to stay informed of issues.

With mid-term elections on November 4 I am firing up my political passion that has been dormant since 2008. I’m only one little vote but instead of doing nothing and complaining, I’m trying to reach some undecided voters. I’m a college educated NH mom, who reads and listens to both liberal and conservative points of views to stay informed of issues. I will remain anonymous because I don’t think it matters what my real name is. It’s not worth possibly losing friends over, and look what happened to Joe the Plumber when he gave his opinion. So here goes.

Our Senator choices are Jean Shaheen (D) and Scott Brown (R). Here is Jean’s voting record as NH State Senator https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/jeanne_shaheen/412323. She voted with Obama 99% of the time. And we have Scott Brown, a former MA Republican Senator. Although he represents the Republican party he does seem to be an independent thinker and did not always vote along party lines. Here is his voting record while in the Senate https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/scott_brown/412384. I realize a lot of people don’t like or distrust him in this state. I would bet a cup of coffee that they are mostly MA Democrats who moved to the Live Free or Die state and helped change us from a red state to a blue state. Both the R and D parties have been abhorrently inept at governing, and have received a failing grade in recent poles regarding voter satisfaction with the job they were elected to do. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/congressional_job_approval-903.html. Trust me, I am not thrilled with any leaders in the R party but we have to make a choice. However, the Obama administration has been a failure in many respects with regards what is best for our country.

Distrust and lack of confidence in this government. In my opinion the Obama administration has been the most corrupt, divisive, arrogant, race-bating, anti-American regime that I have seen in my lifetime. When Bill Clinton was president, I felt he was my leader too, not just the leader of people who voted for him. He worked with congress on both sides for the good of the people. But Obama… he claimed to be a great uniter; nothing could be further from the truth. When it comes to race relations the Obama administration added fuel to the fire by taking sides, thus, dividing us further. If you didn’t vote for him you are automatically labeled a racist. Don’t get me wrong; he is one heck of a handsome guy; great smile and amazing orator. However I voted on substance and issues, not the color of skin. When it comes to minorities, you need to ask how the D’s have helped them. From what I understand they have been in worse shape economically during this administration, not better. http://www.mediaite.com/tv/tavis-smiley-black-people-are-not-better-off-under-obama-president-ought-to-be-held-responsible. Maybe the Democrats take their vote for granted, like some other key constituencies who know they have your vote in their back pocket. The Democrats have also been very clever with their political campaigns, such as the “war on women”. I hope people are smart enough to know this is a manufactured political scheme. http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/30/opinion/cupp-interview-carly-fiorina/index.html.

As far as corruption from the Oval Office, I won’t go into details but if you are curious to learn, read up on the following - Fast and Furious, the IRS scandal, Benghazi, VA scandal, Amnesty and the complete misrepresentation of Obamacare and ramming it through without one Republican vote. I for one do not trust my healthcare with a large bureaucratic government, and neither does the majority of Americans. I know I am labeled a fear-mongering conservative.

Illegal Immigration. I think the Democrats are on the wrong side of this issue. The Commander in Chief has the utmost responsibility to protect American citizens first and foremost. Why in the world do the D’s want Amnesty and allow Illegal immigrants to come to this country? We have immigration laws and this President has overreached his executive powers with blatant disregard for them, and against the will of a vast majority of American citizens.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/immigration/august_2014/voters_strongly_oppose_obama_s_amnesty_plan_for_illegal_immigrants. So what happens to these primarily non-English speaking, low skilled, uneducated illegal (the operative word) immigrants who will be granted amnesty? Are they guaranteed a job? Are we Americans who are busting our own butts to keep the bills paid and food on the table suppose to absorb them in our already over crowded schools, communities and housing? Who pays for their healthcare? What did you promise them and what is their incentive to live here?

Is it not plausible that this is a political move by the Democrats, who want to ensure they remain in power for generations to come? Surely if/when they become citizens who are eligible to vote, they are another constituency in the back pocket of the D’s. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/monkey-cage/wp/2014/10/24/could-non-citizens-decide-the-november-election/. Why are they so against voter-ID? They say it dissuades people from voting. Voter fraud is rampant in the Democratic party. This article gives a good analysis of voter ID. http://ivn.us/2014/01/16/hard-evidence-supports-need-voter-id-laws/. We need an ID to get a job, buy alcohol, get any insurance including Obamacare, receive welfare, receive food stamps, get a fishing license and drive a car. Hypocritical?

National Security and the threat of Terrorism. This is of major importance. Since our Appeaser in Chief went on several apology tours around the world, apologizing for America’s exceptionalism, our country has been an easy target for groups that want to harm us because he is soft on this issue. And guess what most of them have in common? They are extreme Muslims. But our President won’t admit that and he won’t call a terrorist attack what it is., because he is a Muslim-sympathizer. So hence we are now face a bigger threat than Al-Qaeda in ISIS. Who do you think our enemies are more afraid of, Democrats or Republicans? Enough with the PC crap; give it to us straight. We need a strong leader and defender of America, especially now.

Government expansion and entitlement programs. The Democrats believe big government is the solution to poverty. In reality the poor have mostly always been poor no matter how much they are subsidized by the government, the rich are richer (ironically under this President), but the middle class has gotten squeezed even more than ever. You can’t get money from the poor, the rich just find a way to make more money, but it’s the middle class who ends up funding more entitlement programs, have less take home pay and have to work harder and longer for less. The government entitlement programs have extended so much that the incentive to work or improve ones circumstances, is outweighed by government dependency. And the deficit… Bush spent like a drunken sailor, we all know. But the Democrats? They spent like a boatload of drunken sailors, on steroids.

Taxes. I believe in fiscal responsibility; you don’t spend what you don’t have. Most families run their household on a limited budget. Shouldn’t you expect the same from your government? Both parties in the government treat our tax money like an open checkbook. I’m not claiming the Republicans are better, I just trust Democrats less when it come to fiscal responsibility. I teach my kids that if you work hard you get rewarded. In life there are people who pull the cart, and there are people who sit in the cart. It’s ok to be in the cart sometimes, but you better be pushing it more the long run. This is America, not France or any other socialized or communist country. I am referring to able-bodied, lazy adults who are draining resources, otherwise meant to be for those who are sick, elderly or disabled.

So there it is, my reasoning as to why I lean Republican and am voting for Scott Brown. I hope NH does it’s part in helping the political pendulum swing away from the left and a little more towards the center, for the good of the country. If the Republicans take control of the Senate, no one is expecting any miracles or a lot of change. I don’t want to give up hope that some great presidential leader (with an actual resume of accomplishments this time) who emerges out of the woodwork before 2016 and is elected. But if we continue to move towards liberalism, I fear that that America will no longer be what makes it unique and the greatest country on earth.

Sincerely,

Concerned Citizen
