Woman Charged with Leaving Dogs in Car in 95 Degree Heat

Kristina Louise Gaines of Derry turned herself in to police on Wednesday.

A Derry woman was arrested by Londonderry Police this week after allegedly leaving her dogs in the car in 95 degree heat.

Kristina Louise Gaines, 48, of 3 McKinley Ave., Derry turned herself in on a warrant Wednesday and was charged with cruelty to animals.

According to Londonderry Police Lt. Tim Jones, Gaines left her dogs in the car for 20 minutes when it was 95 degrees outside. The date the incident occurred was not specified in the police log.

Gaines was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Derry District Court on Aug. 12.
