A group calling itself Save Woodmont Apple Trees (SWAT) is holding a rally next month to draw attention to the impact the proposed development would have on Londonderry, according to the Union Leader.
Londonderry resident Mary Tetreau told the newspaper the rally will be held at 2 p.m. near the Woodmont Orchards sign at the intersection of Pillsbury and Gilcreast roads. The point, she said, is to draw attention to all of the apple trees that will be chopped down in order to make way for Woodmont Commons.
The Planning Board is next scheduled to discuss the Woodmont development at its Aug. 14 meeting.
