BENNINGTON, VT — A Manchester man is facing multiple charges after being accused of flying his small plane out of a Vermont airport to stalk a New York woman, according to The Associated Press.

Police said Michael Arnold, 65, had for several years been flying his single-engine Cessna 180 out of the William H. Morse State Airport in Bennington, Vermont to stalk the Schuylerville, New York woman, the outlet reported.

Arnold was charged Tuesday with aggravated stalking, impeding, false information to a police officer, and resisting arrest after being apprehended while driving to the airport, according to the outlet. He posted $5,000 bail and made an initial court appearance in Bennington Wednesday.

Arnold has been accused previously of flying his plane too low over a residential area, though authorities did not give details about how Arnold was allegedly stalking the woman by plane, according to The Associated Press.

Speaking to reporters outside the courtroom, Arnold denied having any contact with the woman, the outlet reported.
