Weather forecast:
1. New Hampshire $360M Stormwater Tunnel Project Awaits Tunnel Boring Machine (enr.com) — Manchester’s $360 million Cemetery Brook stormwater tunnel is moving ahead, with a massive tunnel boring machine due on site by early May and digging expected to start in August. The project aims to sharply cut sewer overflows, reduce neighborhood flooding for about 115,000 residents, and improve Merrimack River water quality as part of the city’s long-term CSO upgrades through 2040.
2. Residents urge Manchester Aldermen to support schools during budget hearing (wzid.com) — Manchester residents are pressing aldermen to override the city’s tax cap so schools can receive more than the mayor’s proposed funding in the 2027 budget. The $434 million plan trims most departments by 2%, spares police amid vacancies, and still leaves schools about $526,000 short of the tax-compliant request. Ten of 14 aldermen must approve any override.
3. Fisher Cats plate a dozen runs, strike out 12 in Thursday throttle of Baysox (inklink.news) — New Hampshire Fisher Cats fans in Manchester just watched their team explode for 12 runs and 12 strikeouts at Delta Dental Stadium, extending a four-game win streak. The club is back in action Friday night at home, and season tickets are available online, by phone, or at the stadium box office on Line Drive in Manchester.
4. Woman Helps 78-Year-Old DoorDash Driver After Delivery (godtube.com) — A 78-year-old DoorDash driver from Manchester was able to return to retirement after a customer’s GoFundMe raised nearly $1 million for him and his wife. The viral act of generosity, boosted by a $20,000 gift from DoorDash, lifted the couple out of financial strain and highlighted how online kindness can transform a local senior’s life.
