• Citizens Bank to close branch in prominent downtown Manchester building (unionleader.com) — Citizens Bank is closing its high-profile branch at 875 Elm Street in downtown Manchester on Dec. 2, ending more than a century of banking in the historic Amoskeag tower. While another Citizens branch up Elm Street is being renovated to stay open, the prominent space—visible from I-293 and now mostly apartments—is being marketed for a new financial or retail tenant.
• Visit Manchester names Jessica Martin as its first executive director (unionleader.com) — Manchester's new destination marketing group, Visit Manchester, has hired longtime resident Jessica Martin as its first executive director and is launching with a public event at the Rex Theatre this Wednesday. The organization will promote local attractions, support downtown businesses, and create year-round events to draw visitors and boost the city's economy.
• Tang Williams calls for end to Iran war, focus on domestic agendas (wmur.com) — A televised town hall taping in Manchester features Lily Tang Williams urging an end to the Iran war, arguing it would ease gas, diesel, and food prices for residents. She also touches on deregulation to improve home affordability and the growth of data centers, giving Manchester-area voters a clearer sense of her priorities on domestic issues.
