Executive director Robert Tourigny explains how the nonprofit, founded as Manchester Neighborhood Housing Services, is scaling up to meet huge regional housing needs despite rising construction and financing costs.
2. NH Business Notebook: Mission accomplished (nhbr.com) — Families on Manchester's West Side are getting a major boost with the opening of the new Mark Stebbins Community Center, anchored by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Manchester and Amoskeag Health. Backed by more than $20 million in public and private support, including a fresh $1 million gift, the center will offer after-school care, healthcare access, a food pantry, and community space for local residents.
3. State House Dome: Top Dems pan the 'donor class' for abandon... (unionleader.com) — Manchester residents are again central to the governor's race, as Kelly Ayotte launches a new ad featuring Mayor Jay Ruais praising her work on bail reform, school funding, and housing that he says benefited the city. The broader piece also captures Democrats' frustration over fundraising for Cinde Warmington's campaign, highlighting how statewide political strategies are playing out with Manchester as a key battleground.
4. ICE Hiring Deportation Officers in Mass & Across New England (wbsm.com) — Manchester residents interested in federal law enforcement careers can apply for new full-time ICE Deportation Officer positions based in the city, with applications open through December 31, 2026. The posting outlines nationwide hiring across New England, including Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont, and directs candidates to USAJobs.gov for pay details, qualifications, and veteran preferences.
5. From Saturn V to F-35, Sanders legacy lives on at BAE System... (unionleader.com) — Manchester plays a key role in BAE Systems' New Hampshire footprint, with one of several major facilities supporting the company's 6,500 in-state jobs and advanced defense manufacturing.
