MANCHESTER, NH — police and the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office are investigating the suspicious deaths of a man and a woman after officers responded Tuesday morning to a home on Wheelock Street in the Queen City.

Attorney General John Formella and Manchester Police Chief Peter Marr announced the investigation in a joint statement. Police said officers responded to the home around 9:30 a.m. after a report of a domestic dispute. The caller to 911 said they were concerned for the three residents — two adults and a child. When the officers arrived, they found the two adults dead inside the home.

Police also found an 8-year-old child alive and suffering from what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury — a gunshot wound to the torso. The child was taken to a hospital and is reportedly in stable condition while receiving treatment.

In a second statement issued on Tuesday, the attorney general's office said the woman was shot multiple times while the man was shot a single time, leading detectives to surmise the incident may be a murder-suicide.

Investigators said the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available, pending the results of autopsies to be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711.
