Queen City Police Investigate Vandalism, Antisemitic Spray-Paint At The Moka Pot On Hanover Street

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police are investigating overnight vandalism at The Moka Pot, a downtown business on Hanover Street.

Officers were notified around 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday about the incident. Police reported several windows had been broken and offensive language and Swastikas had been spray-painted on the business.

According to police, people were last at the business around 11:30 p.m. after a comedy show. Investigators believe the vandalism happened between midnight and 4 a.m. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime, according to Police Chief Peter Marr.

“This was more than property damage. It was a deliberate act intended to intimidate and instill fear, and we will not tolerate that in Manchester,” he said. “Our detectives are investigating this incident as a hate crime and are committed to identifying those responsible and holding them accountable for their actions.”

Joe Kelly Levasseur, a local attorney, former alderman, and former restaurant owner, is offering a reward for information leading to a conviction, according to Manchester Information.

Police said the New Hampshire Department of Justice Civil Rights Unit was notified about the incident.

The investigation remains active.
