Bedford Man Arrested On Drunk Driving Charges

Benjamin Bourgault was arrested in Merrimack during the Labor Day Weekend on various charges.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Bedford man was arrested this weekend on drunk driving charges in Merrimack, according to police. Benjamin Bourgault, 31, of Bedford, was arrested on Sept. 2, 2017, for operating under the influence-liquor, possession of controlled drug-felony, transportation of drugs in a motor vehicle, open container, and unregistered motor vehicle. Bourgault was stopped by police on the Daniel Webster Highway for a motor vehicle violation, Sgt. Chris Spillane of the Merrimack Police Department.

“After speaking with Bourgault, the officer observed several signs of impairment,” Spillane alleged. “Upon further investigation by the officer, Bourgault was arrested and subsequently charged with the above offenses.”

Bourgault was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Sept. 12.

Bourgault previously, according to posts on Patch, was arrested for simple assault in 2013, in Bedford, and a bench warrant in March.
