2 Merrimack Educators Up for Teacher of Year
Jeff Caron and Kathleen Donegan will be recognized on Thursday.

Two Merrimack School District teachers will be honored alongside 15 others at a Teacher of the Year Nominee Ceremony on Thursday, April 19.
Jeff Caron, a science teacher at Merrimack Middle School, and Kathleen Donegan, a first-grade teacher at Reeds Ferry have both been nominated for the honor of 2013 Teacher of the Year.
The teachers will be displaying their students’ and or their work beginning at 10 a.m. at the Red Blazer in Concord. Lunch will be at noon, with the formal ceremony to follow.

According to a press release from the New Hampshire Department of Education, New Hampshire schools take part in the state and national Teacher of the Year Program. The National Teacher of the Year Program, sponsored by the ING Foundation and Target, is a project of the Council of Chief State School Officers, in partnership with the University of Phoenix Foundation and People to People Ambassador Programs. It is the oldest and most prestigious honors program to focus public attention on excellence in teaching. In New Hampshire, Hannaford Supermarkets partner with the Department of Education to sponsor the New Hampshire Teacher of the Year program.
