2023 Merrimack Town, School Candidate Signups Underway
Candidates running for town council, ethics committee, library trustee, or multiple school positions can sign up through March 3.

MERRIMACK, NH — The filing period for 2023 town and school offices for the April 11 election begins soon.
The signups will begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, and run through 5 p.m. on Friday, March 3.
According to Town Clerk Diane Trippett, races include two town council seats, two ethics committee member positions, two library trustees, and a single trustee of the trust fund position.

For the school district, according to Patricia Heinrich, the system’s clerk, one school board seat is up, two members of the planning and building committee will be elected, and four members of the school district budget committee — three for three-year terms and one for a single year term.
Candidates for school offices will file at the office of the school superintendent at 36 McElwain St., while town candidates will file at the clerk’s office at 6 Baboosic Lake Road.

For both school offices, candidates must be residents of Merrimack who are also registered voters, while town office candidates must be registered voters and domiciled in Merrimack. Town council candidates must be domiciled in town for at least one year.
