600 Creative Kids Hoping to Go Global

This Saturday, more than 600 creative problem-solvers from New Hampshire will compete for the right to represent the state at the international Destination ImagiNation competition in May.

Destination ImagiNation, or DI, State Finals at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton will select the "Team New Hampshire" who will compete in challenges that incorporate core school subjects with a focus that is technical, scientific, arts-based, improvisational, structural or social-learning. Team solutions may appear to be a seven-minute performance in competition. In reality, they are a demonstration of each challenge’s roughly 17 scoring areas and help teach students how to effectively communicate the team’s work.

A middle school level team from the and a team a piece from and will have their shot at heading to Global Finals.

Teams that advance to Destination ImagiNation Global Finals will compete with teams from all 50 states and at least 13 countries at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in late May.

The state final is open to the public for viewing and will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Winnacunnet High School, 1 Alumni Drive, Hampton.
