A sign of fall at the Independent Karate School

One of the most enjoyable things about summer at the Independent Karate School is the presence of our college-age black belts.  They swell the ranks of our advanced classes and give us an abundance of assistant instructors.  Perhaps most importantly, though, we are just plain glad to see them.

Now, the sun is setting a little sooner, and our college students are starting to return to school.

The Independent Karate School does all it can to support our students' academic aims.  In fact, graduating high school seniors who have achieved the rank of first-degree black belt are eligible to apply for the Craig P. Hutchinson Memorial Scholarship, our tribute to the memory of a fine young man.  In recent years, this scholarship has provided the winner with an award of $10,000 towards tuition.

All the same, we miss our college kids while they are away, and are always glad when they spend time with us during their vacations.  At this time of year, we send them off with our best wishes, and look forward to seeing them again when they are home on break.

In the meantime, our next generation will be continuing to learn and grow.  Classes in Merrimack are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 pm, at the VFW Post near the Common Man.  Come visit any time!
