After Car Strikes Tree, Man Charged with OUI

Merrimack Police arrested Joseph Creager after accident on Indian Rock Road yesterday morning.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local man was arrested yesterday morning on drunk driving charges after reportedly crashing his car into a tree on Indian Rock Road, according to police. Joseph Creager, 21, of Indian Rock Road in Merrimack, was arrested on Aug. 14, 2016, for operating under the influence of liquor and operating under the influence of liquor-aggravated per se.

At around 1 a.m. on Sunday, police were sent to a report of a crash with a vehicle reportedly struck a tree. They found a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse with extensive damage, while the driver was trapped inside, needing assistance getting out of the vehicle.

“While speaking with Creager, the investigating officer noticed Creager displaying signs of intoxication and impairment by alcohol,” according to Sgt. Cassell of the Merrimack Police Department. “At the conclusion of the officer’s investigation, Creager was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. Creager was transported to the Merrimack Police Department where he was processed and charged accordingly.”

Creager was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Aug. 25.
