Alleged Burglar Pawns $7K Engagement Ring for $160: Cops

MERRIMACK, NH — A local woman, currently incarcerated, will be in court next month to face a felony burglary charge after allegedly stealing an engagement ring and cash from a Chapel Lane home. Police were called to the home on July 7, 2016, for a report of a burglary. The victim reported a missing diamond engagement ring – valued at $7,000 – and some cash missing from the home.

Investigators later discovered that Kerri Lynn Brown, 33, of Chapel Lane in Merrimack, had allegedly sold the ring to Cash for Gold on Amherst Street in Nashua in mid-June for $160, according to Det. Scott Park of the Merrimack Police Department.

“Police were able to recover the ring, which the victim was able to identify,” Park noted.

Investigators interviewed Brown at the New Hampshire Women’s Prison in Goffstown, where she was being held on unrelated charges. After the interview, police charged her with burglary. She’s due in court on Aug. 9.
