Alleged Stalker From Nashua Arrested In Merrimack
Soterios Scarmeas was arrested after allegedly punching a man and stalking a woman after an incident on Continental Boulevard in 2017.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local man was arrested on numerous charges last week after an alleged incident involving an assault against a man and the stalking of a woman. Soterios Scarmeas, 32, of Haines Street in Nashua, was arrested on Feb. 19, 2018, for simple assault, stalking, domestic violence-stalking, and reckless driving. At around 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2017, officers were sent to a report of an assault on Continental Boulevard and Camp Sargent Road, according to Sgt. Dennis Foley of the Merrimack Police Department.

“The suspect fled in a red pickup truck,” Foley alleged. “Police met up with the female caller and her boyfriend. According to them, they noticed a red pickup truck following them from her place of employment in Massachusetts into New Hampshire. The pickup truck continued to follow them onto the back roads of Nashua and into Merrimack.”

On Continental Boulevard, the pickup allegedly cut them off and blocked them in.
“The driver, identified as, Soterios Scarmeas, exited his vehicle, walked up to the driver’s side of vehicle, and assaulted the victim by punching him the face,” Foley said. “Scarmeas was in a previous relationship with the passenger of the vehicle.”

Scarmeas was arrested last week and released on personal recognizance bail with an arraignment date of Feb. 22.
Last year, according to the Lowell Sun, Scarmeas was arrested in Chelmsford, MA, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and failure to stay in marked lanes.
