AM Networking with Project SEARCH April 17

Merrimack Chamber of Commerce co-sponsors event at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.

Join the Merrimack Chamber and Project SEARCH for coffee, light breakfast, networking, and the opportunity to increase your connections, according to an email.

Project SEARCH is a national program that trains students and young adults with disabilities in hospital settings. Students attend at St. Joseph Hospital for the full school year. They have class time in the morning and then go on to work in different internship rotations throughout the hospital. Each intern participates in three ten-week real work rotations. When they graduate in June, the interns are well prepared for a wide variety of competitive jobs in the community. The PLUS Company helps them find employment and provides ongoing support to the graduate and the employer.

Project SEARCH has graduated 38 individuals and placed 34 in jobs, a 90 percent success rate. Project SEARCH is a partnership of St. Joseph Hospital, Sodexo, Nashua School District, The PLUS Company, NH Vocational Rehabilitation, and Gateways Community Services. The Project SEARCH program in Nashua was the first of its kind established in New England.
