Amherst Road In Merrimack Re-Opens Friday
The road at the Naticook Brook crossing has been closed for a number of weeks to repair a culvert after a sinkhole was discovered in June.

MERRIMACK, NH — The town of Merrimack Public Works Department announced on July 14, 2017, that Amherst Road at the Naticook Brook crossing will be open to traffic again beginning at 4 p.m., according to a press release. The department, according to Becky Thompson, the executive secretary for the town of Merrimack, "would like to thank the residents for their patience and understanding during the recent three week closure." She noted that the culvert had been replaced and the road repaired.
"The town of Merrimack Public Works Department would like to especially thank the contractor, C.S.S.I., who rearranged their schedule to perform all of the work necessary to have the road opened within a three week time frame," she noted.
The remaining installation of the guardrail will be completed today and after that installation, the road will be re-opened.
