Amherst Woman Charged With DWI

Merrimack Police: Amy Sanderson was arrested after allegedly pulling over on the side of the road in front of a police officer.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local woman was arrested recently for drunk driving, according to police. Amy Sanderson, 40, of Taconic Drive in Amherst, was arrested on Aug. 10, 2017, for operating under the influence of liquor. At just before midnight, an officer stopped to check the welfare of a motorist who pulled over onto the side of the road – while driving in front of him, Sgt. Cassell noted in a press statement.

After an investigation into the situation, Sanderson was arrested. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and had a court date on Aug. 15.
