• Electronics manufacturer to close Menomonee Falls plant, eliminate 91 jobs (biztimes.com subscription) — Merrimack readers may be interested to know that electronics manufacturer Virtex, which operates a facility in Merrimack, is shutting down its Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin plant and cutting 91 jobs there this summer. The company, which serves defense, aerospace, medical, and industrial clients, hasn’t yet explained the closure, leaving questions about how its remaining locations, including Merrimack, fit into its long‑term plans.    

• Report: Communication failures left NH leaders unaware of ICE inquiry (inklink.news) — State investigators say communication breakdowns, not misconduct, kept top officials in the dark about a proposed ICE processing facility in Merrimack, which is now off the table. The review faults weak internal protocols and poor judgment by a division director, and recommends stronger right-to-know procedures, better communication, and more legal oversight going forward.
